Public Parades Plus Private Planes! August 5th

(Shelagh writes) A nice long lie in to start the day in Uyuni, although still no hot water so I guess the shower will wait until I get back to La Paz (Mmmmm....nice). We had wi-fi at the hotel for the first time in 3 days but were so tired on arrival thought we would do the blog in the morning....we had to check out at 11am and they turned the wi-fi off!!! So we took a walk around the town looking for somewhere with wi-fi...no joy!

However, what we thought at first was more practising for Independance day was actually the real thing!!!! The town was packed with school kids, stalls and marching bands all with different sorts of uniforms. Lyra spent the whole time deciding which was her favourite!

Another delayed flight from the tiniest airport ever, we then boarded the tiniest airplane ever!! All of 19 seats...felt like our own private jet!

You reach both sides with your arms outstretched!

Back to La Paz that night....it felt positively warm and cosy.
