This morning We caught the bus to Copacabana from Le Paz. The toilet seat was unhappy about being placed in with the rest of the luggage.
The bus took about 4 hours, including negotiating the traffic to escape from La Paz. The best bit of the journey was when we had to cross a short section of Lake Titicaca.... We had to alight from the bus and get on board a small 'ferry'... It took 3 ferries to transport all of the passengers across .
We all squashed up together..this lady does not look too happy with her seating companion.
There were lots of small boats acting as ferries for bus and car passengers.
The bus was driven onto a an open ended 'barge', complete with rickety planks, and transported across separately.
We arrived in Copacabana , catching the tail end of a big religious festival. Many people from Peru drive here to get their cars and other possessions blessed on the beach.
The cars are subsequently decorated.
Firecrackers were popping all around, especially at the top of the hill that over looks this little lake- side town.
