Into the forest & eating piranhas 8th July.

(Lyra writes) Today we went for a 3 hour deep jungle walk through the Amazon. We managed to catch mum on camera next to this huge tree with really big buttress roots - There were lots of them! It was really hot and humid with lots of insects flying around-thankfully I didn't get bitten.

During the walk our guide, Rodriguez, found a tailless scorpion and put it on Lucas's face!!! Then gave him a drink from a water vine.

After our morning walk, we relaxed in the hammocks and the hot tub outside our cabin - way too hot for my taste considering it was already boiling. After lunch and a swim in the piranha infested lake (we persuaded mum to come in too this time!) we went for a canoe ride to spot some wildlife we saw lots of monkeys including Cappuccino, Squirrel and Red Howler monkeys. - We also caught a piranha and a big sardine for our tea!
